not what was expected
this is the bench.

it’s nice enough, but needs a little work to be completely finished. while it’s basically sturdy, it still has a little wobble on it where it could use just a little more anchoring.

this is the corner of the front edge. it needs to be replaced.

the stamps is showing. according to ted, it can’t even be painted over or sanded away.

this screw was left sticking out.

and when these screws didn’t go in, someone elected to use a hammer…

when the stairs were re-attached, some of the wood split and was just left jutting out.
when ted and i walked up there, he and i both picked up a couple screws that had been left behind. i know they have to come back to pick up the waste, but i would be nice if they would also blow/sweep the saw dust (rather than waiting for a rain). although i don’t have pictures, they need to make the flashing over the awning look more presentable, as well as put an end-cap on the gutter. (and it would be nice if they cleaned the debris out of the gutter running along the florida room.) and overall, most of the places that someone could touch could use some sanding (like the bench and rail).
for the most part, nice workmanship. this wasn’t the easiest job and it probably took a bit more engineering than a typical deck. all the same, considering the finishing details, it’s just more like a 85-90% job, rather than a 100% job.
Update (more photos)

ted has seen this and will handle it.

this probably “works”, but doesn’t look that great. i’ll point it out and see what happens.

debris/sawdust left in the gutter

debris/waste that hasn’t been picked up, yet.

this is one of the boards. ted thinks the board should be replaced (as well as a few more). he pointed out that the knots in the boards will tend to come out, sooner or later, and that knotted wood shouldn’t have been used.

this is just one of the places that should probably be sanded.
